Rescue a Border Collie

Border Collies are my favorite breed for all of the reasons that get too many of them into trouble with owners that aren't prepared for living life with this breed. Not everyone is cut out to provide the activities, exercise, and mental stimulation needed for the majority of BC's.

I try to help with rescuing abandoned border collies from kill shelters when I can, but it's a heartbreaking issue at times. At any one time, there are at least a dozen that I'm following across the country that I'd adopt myself if I could. Instead, I do what I can to help and try and get them out of a bad situation. If you're ready for a border collie, please be open to the idea of rescuing one from a shelter.

Spring Fever 2011

Wow... an exciting tournament! Zio ran in the 4.0's three times while setting a personal best of 4.050 seconds. The team improved on last tournament's 18.193 with a 18.029 run! We had several runs that could have put us into the 17 second club, but a miscue here or there kept us from it... this time.

It was nice to see the club tighten up the passes over all and take up the challenge to get those "perfect" passes. Wisp had his first perfect start Saturday and Luigi set a personal best of 5.584 running as start dog on the pickup team with 4 Dog Flight.

Our biggest challenge ahead will be to work more on passing so that everyone can run in any spot. We're the only team entered in our division in our regional qualifier, so all we have to do is finish a race to get the invitation to the Championships in St. Louis again. The 17 second club is a given as long as we get one passing glitch corrected, so we'll be racing faster teams by then.
